Merge / Purge Processing

Combine multiple mailing lists into a single, clean, deduplicated file — ready for print or digital delivery.

What Is Merge / Purge?

Merge/purge is the process of combining two or more mailing lists into a unified output file while removing duplicates and unwanted records. It is a critical step before any significant mailing — without it, recipients receive multiple copies of the same piece, postal costs increase, and suppression requirements go unmet.

PCC's merge/purge process is fully integrated: we handle list conversion, address coding, DMA suppression, duplicate elimination, and postal presorting in a single workflow. You receive a clean, sorted, print-ready output along with clear, detailed reports.

Why It Matters

Every duplicate in your mailing costs you money. A well-run merge/purge removes redundant records, applies legally required suppressions, and ensures your output is optimized for postal discounts before it ever reaches the presort stage.

PCC has been running merge/purge jobs since 1970. Our process is precise, our reports are clear, and our turnaround is reliable. You'll know exactly what happened to every record.
